In today’s hectic world, giving peace seems to be a long lost wisdom. Peace can instantly add to the quality of our current experience and to our well being. It can allow us to enjoy the struggle and flow of life, rather than stress over it.
One of the things you can learn to do is give yourself peace. Instead of wait for it, instead of hope for it, you can actually give it to yourself regularly. Giving yourself peace is simple. One way we’ll focus on now takes just three to five minutes a day. On your own journey of self growth can you give yourself three minutes a day to harness the power of peace in your life?
One simple method is called Peacefully Remaining. You sit alone for 3 minutes and peacefully remain with whatever comes across your awareness. You can have your eyes open or closed, it doesn’t matter. You can do this at home in the morning or when you get back from work, you can do it in the car or at work at lunchtime.
For these 3 minutes, you allow or remain peacefully with ANY thoughts you are having. You don’t try to change them or resist them. You allow whatever feelings and emotions you are having as well. You just notice them and allow them. No trying to make them different. Whatever arises in your awareness you aim to allow it to be there without struggling or resistance.
We are often at war with what is. We are often manipulating and trying to change our consciousness and our thoughts and feelings and circumstances. This is a simple but powerful process to just allow things to be the way they are for just a few minutes. This is part of what peace is – allowance. You don’t have to do anything to feel peace but stop resisting. Just breathe and allow things to be the way they are.
